I have worked for the Niagara region's public health department for the past 14 years. Last summer I accepted the position of manager for the vaccine preventable disease program. The vaccine program is comprised of a team of 30 members of various professions, including nurses, health promoters, data clerks and program assistants. This dedicated team of professionals delivers immunization services in schools and community clinics and supports close to 300 primary care partners by supplying all publicly funded vaccine and by being a resource for vaccine administration practices.
